MARAWI CITY: The administration of the municipality of Taraka, Lanao del Sur, warned the public of a dummy Instagram account pretending as lawyer Amenodin U. Sumagayan, the municipal vice mayor.
The Municipality of Taraka issued the public warning in its official Facebook page on Tuesday, Nov. 2, that the dummy Instagram account has been messaging various accounts recently proposing business and financial investments.
“Should you receive requests and messages from the said account, please disregard and help us report it so as to prohibit the person behind it from scamming other people,” LGU Taraka said.
It said the Municipal Vice Mayor neither operate the said account nor does he have knowledge regarding the transactions being done by the scammer. “Hence, we are posting this to warn everyone and to help us take down the account by reporting it,” it added.
