ILIGAN CITY: The local government unit of Taraka condemns the vicious murder of the Muslim businesswoman, Nadia Casar after she was abducted on the 20th of July in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija.
Vice Mayor of Taraka, Atty. Amenodin U. Sumagayan released a statement regarding what he called “inhumane murder” case.
In a strongly worded statement, Sumagayan said “Though PGen. Guillermo Eleazar already expressed his firm resolve to implement their internal cleansing and that Police Brig. Gen. Val De Leon further affirmed that they will punish the suspects according to law, WE ARE IMPLORING the President, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, to fast track the investigation of this case and bring those other suspects who still remain at large to justice.”
Sumagayan said not only did the suspects disrespect the Penal Code and flout the laws on basic human rights, but also they have likewise degenerated the Islamic burial laws where safeguarding the dignity of the dead is crucial.
“Hence, the heinous crime committed against the victim and her family desperately calls for the maximum penalty to be imposed to the abductors. Sumagayan said.
The vice mayor said the LGU-Taraka condolences and prayers are with the family of the victim and that they stand alongside them as they seek justice for their slain relative. The Ranao Star
