The month of June was declared as Philippine Environment Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 237. It is to give time and effort towards the protection, enhancement and development of the country’s environment.
This month’s celebration carries the theme “Sama-samang Pagkilos, Sama-samang Paghilom: Ikaw, Ako, Tayo ang Kalikasan”.
On June 28, 2021, the Municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi in collaboration with the National Power Corporation celebrated the Philippine Environment Month through Tree Planting Activity to give back to the Mother Nature.
In a statement posted in its Facebook account, Bacolod-Kalawi stated that “Ang paghilom ng kalikasan ay simbulo ng paghilom ng komunidad sapagkat ikaw, ako, tayo ang kalikasan!”
