MARAWI CITY, May 19–Ninety parents and 60 learners from Marawi Central Elementary Pilot School (MCEPS) – Temporary Learning Spaces, underwent mental health and psychosocial support activity in line with the conduct of Marawi Week of Peace.
The Department of Education Marawi Operation Center partnered with the World Vision Philippines to spearhead the said activity.
The learners painted their perspective of peace on shirts while the parents wrote and drew their idea of peace.
Tapnain Macasling, a parent from Area 5 of Biyaya ng Pagbabago Transitory Shelter Site in Barangay Sagonsongan, said the activity helped her released her emotions.
“Nakatulong ito kasi naivoice out ko ang nararamdaman ko. Nagpapasalamat ako sa ganitong activity kasi nasabi ko ang nararamdaman ko,” said Macasling.
[It was helpful because I was able to voice out my feelings. I am thankful for this activity because I expressed how I feel.]
