MARAWI CITY, May 21–In accordance to its commitment to Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) in providing assistance to each internally displaced person (IDP) returning to the city’s most affected area (MAA), the National Housing Authority (NHA) through its Marawi Project Management Office (MPMO) offered and officially awarded free architectural and engineering design to every Most Affected Area (MAA) resident applying for building permit.
“Nakacommit na si GM Escalada na iyong sa building permit na babalik sa MAA, iyong IDPs natin, tutulong kami sa paggawa ng mga plano ng bahay, which is the main requirement sa building permit. Kami po ang gagawa ng libre as assistance ng NHA,” said Engr. Ikmat Inono Bantuas, deputy manager of NHA-MPMO.
(GM Escalada has already committed that once building permits are returned to MAA, our IDPs, we will help in making the plan for the house, which is the main requirement of building permit. We will give it free as assistance from the NHA)
Bantuas then bared that since the commencement of Kathagombalay last year, the office has already awarded 82 designs to its clients.
Included in the package of engineering and architectural design are the technical plan and the cost estimate.
Asec. Felix Castro Jr., TFBM Field Office Manager, called on the IDPs to make use of the said program and other initiatives of the government as opportunities to transform the city into a better place.
“Maraming programa ang gobyerno para maisaayos natin ang sistema sa Marawi (The government has lots of programs to organize the system of Marawi). Let us take advantage of this,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, clients of the offered free assistance extended their appreciation to the agency for pushing the assistance for the benefit of the IDPs, specifically MAA residents.
“Malaking tulong ito kasi kung pupunta ako sa private, medyo may kamahalan. Alhamdulillah, nag-offer sila kay nagpunta ako dito para malibre… Maraming salamat sa NHA dahil ginagawa nila ang part nila para makatulong sa mga IDP na tulad ko,” expressed Fahad Ali, a resident of Barangay Bubonga Madaya of MAA’s sector seven.
(This is a big help because if I go to the private, it is quite expensive. Alhamdulillah, they offered this that is why I went here to avail it free… Thank you so much to the NHA because they are doing their part to help the IDPs like me)
Further, they urged their fellow residents to also avail the program like them.
“Sana pumunta sila sa NHA at makipag-usap sila kasi bukas ang opisina nila na maka-avail sila ng ganito (I hope they go to the NHA and talk with them because their office is open for them to avail this),” stated Rasmia Disomnong Panda, a resident of Barangay South Madaya of MAA’s sector 7.
As campaigned by the NHA-MPMO, the free architectural and engineering design will still go on even after the conclusion of this year’s Marawi Week of Peace. Applicants may just visit directly the agency’s office situated at the Provincial Capitol Complex. Philippine Information Agency (PIA)
