MARAWI CITY, May 19 (PIA) — Parents of the students who benefitted from the city government’s scholarship program dubbed Iskolar ng Marawi (Scholars of Marawi) expressed gratitude for the allowance provided to their children.
Pesigue Hadji Alibano, a mother of a Grade 8 student, said that the program has been a big help for her child. She shared that her child has been a scholar for almost three years already.
“Nagpapasalamat ako dahil malaking tulong ang Iskolar ng Marawi sa anak ko,” she said.
[I am grateful because this Iskolar ng Marawi has been a great help for my child.]
Almaidah Mutin, also a mother of a scholar for three years, conveyed appreciation for the effort of the city government.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa butihing Mayor sa lungsod ng Marawi dahil maraming natulungan ang Iskolar ng Marawi na ito lalung-lalo na sa mga bata nag nag momodular class kasi,” she said.
[I want to thank the good Mayor of the city of Marawi because this Iskolar ng Marawi has helped a lot, especially the children who are having a modular class.]
Shiela Tenitigan of Barangay Rapasun also affirmed that the assistance has been helpful for them especially in the time of pandemic.
“Maganda ang scholarship kasi malaking tulong sa amin especially na pandemic pandagdag gastos sa mga bata,” she shared.
[The scholarship is good because it is a big help to us, especially during this pandemic, this can be spent for the needs of the children.]
The Iskolar ng Marawi program was launched in the school year 2018-2019 to grant scholarships to affected students of the city.
A total of 2,000 scholars have benefited from the program. Of this, 1,500 are elementary students, 300 high school students, and 200 college students enrolled in different private or public schools in the City starting from the school year 2018-2019 and thereafter. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
