
ZAMBOANGA CITY: A government employee and three others were arrested while close to PHP200,000 illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in the region, a top police official announced Monday.
Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the government employee as Jayson Rillera, 42, a propagator at the Department of Agriculture.
Police arrested Rillera in a buy-bust operation around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Barangay Tetuan here. He yielded some 1.3 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP8,840 and PHP200 marked money consisting of two PHP100 bills, Ylagan said.
Ylagan identified the other arrested suspects as Abdurakman Mohammad, 24; Boynaben Usman, 39; and Limuel Roberto, 22.
Mohammad and Usman were arrested in possession of some five grams of suspected shabu worth PHP34,000 and PHP200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 8:10 p.m. Sunday in Phase 3, Barangay Kasanyangan here, police said.
On the other hand, Roberto was arrested Sunday in Barangay Luop, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay and allegedly yielded some 20 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP136,000 and other pieces of evidence.
Ylagan said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the detained suspects.
