Taraka municipality in Lanao Sur orders mandatory wearing of face masks


The local government unit (LGU) of Taraka has directed the mandatory wearing of face masks in all pubic places within the municipality in its efforts to prevent local transmission of the global contagion, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The directive is contained in the Executive Order No. 05 series of 2020 issued by Municipal Mayor Nashiba U. Gandamra-Sumagayan released on Wednesday.

Mayor Sumagayan ordered, “Only those who are wearing face masks and issued with Municipal Pass and other pertaining quarantine requirements shall be allowed to be in public places which shall include but not limited to any highway, street, road, alley, bridge or other thoroughfare , public market, municipal hall, barangay hall, other government buildings and facilities and or any open space of public ownership where the people are allowed access.”

Any individual caught not wearing face mask shall be arrested by the Taraka PNP Personnel and members of Taraka COVID-19 Interagency Task Force, added the Order. (RSP)
