ACCFI is Top 6 in the Philippine region heat round

Last October 21, 2019, the school landed top 6 for bringing homes several awards in the TIMO Philippine Region Heat Round.

ACCFI sent 53 participants and won 5 gold, 31 silver and 8 bronze awards that made the school qualified to compete in the final international mathematical olympiad heat round to be held on April 3-6 this year in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The school’s achievement has gained the praises of Lanao del Sur leaders including Lanao del Sur provincial governor Mamintal A. Adiong, Jr.

They said despite the devastation of the city in the 2017 Marawi siege, education in the Maranao locality has always been in the right track.

They said the siege instead has pushed as a challenge to provide quality education to the Maranao children and students.

On May 23 of 2017, armed terrorists laid siege on the Islamic city of Marawi. The battles between the terrorists and government forces lasted five months, the longest in the history of the ountry.

In the siege, about a thousand lives were lost, hundreds of thousands displaced, billions of pesos worth of property destroyed, and dreams and well-beings of the populace shattered.

The ACCFI president told Ranao Star that the leaders acknowledgment boosted the students’ confidence to attend in such international events.

“Our children today might be thought of that because they are studying in Marawi City which suffered from the 2017 Siege that it seemed we could hardly stand, they could not level up in our education,” president Indol said.

“On the contrary, our children are striving hard for their education and they are at par with their peers in the country, and even internationally,” Indol said, adding that, “every school in our locality should also strive hard to provide quality education to our children.”

Since its foundation in 1996, Aba Al-Khail Computer School (ACS) now known as Aba Al-Khail Computer College Foundation Inc. (ACCFI), has been a leading private institution of basic education in Lanao del Sur.

It has been a consistent top performer in terms of academic excellence, providing its students with quality education.

Its graduates are a hundred percent passers of both government and non-government scholarship programs.

The siege of 2017 had totally devastated its school campus in the heart of the Islamic city located at Pangarungan Village. It needed to establish a satellite campus in Iligan City to continue its commitment for a better education to its students.

The devastation of its Marawi main campus did not prevent the school administration, faculty and staff who worked hand in hand with the parents and students to recover from the siege.

A year or two, ACCFI returned to Marawi, this time in two campuses. The main is located at Hayfa Compound in Barangay Gadungan, while another is located at Sani Building in East Basak.

While ACCFI still maintains its integrity as a top performing school of academic excellence, Indol said the school continues to strive hard in giving quality education to its students to become better partners in nation-building,
