Lanao Sur IPHO joins immunization drive

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur — Lanao del Sur Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) launched the nationwide measles immunization campaign here Sunday, August 31 aimed to reduce cases of measles and rubella in the country and sustain the country’s polio-free status it achieved in year 2000.

Dubbed “Ligtas sa Tigdas at Polio Mass Immunization,” the month-long campaign targets an estimated 11 million children, from nine months to below five years old to be immunized against measles and rubella.

IPHO chief Dr. Alinader Minalang said IPHO set aside 110,300 vaccines for measles and 129,000 for oral polio for the entire province.

He said more than 500 health personnel were deployed across the province to facilitate the immunization.

Thus, he urged parents to bring their children below five years to the nearest health center for vaccination. RANAO STAR
